Please Whitelist This Site?
I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. I don't want to go to a pay-only model like some sites, but when more and more people block ads, I end up working for free. And I have a family to support, just like you. :)
Please think about the value you get from this free site, and consider adding it to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on freelancingguide.net". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@||freelancingguide.net^$document". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely, Charles Kozierok

Introduction and Overview of Online Freelancing
When I set out to write this Guide
to online freelancing, I figured that most of my readers would already
know a fair bit about the process, and would just want to learn more
about how to be successful at it. However, I also gave a thought to newcomers:
those who were curious about online freelancing, but didn’t really
know much about it. I hate when I buy a guide and find that the author
has assumed that I already know all of the basics, so I made a conscious
choice to avoid doing that here. If you already know what online freelancing
is and how it works, you can probably skip this section. On the other
hand, if you are interested in online freelancing but aren’t
really sure what it is or what’s involved, the next few topics
are for you. They’ll help you understand what online freelancing
is, how it works, and how it compares to other styles of work.
I begin with the most basic of basics:
a description of what online freelancing is. I then describe the activities
that online freelancers engage in as they ply their trades, including
an overview of the process of using freelancing marketplaces to find,
bid on, win and complete projects. I provide an extensive comparison
of online freelancing to full-time employment, and also discuss how freelancing
online is different from the more traditional style of freelancing.
